Being born into carnival, I used to stay in the sewing room with my granny whilst she made costumes for Nottinghill Carnival. Getting involved was a must and slowly my granny taught me the tricks of her trade. I played mas from a toddler, joined in with Jab jab with the family as well as pretty mas with my granny's band Caribbean Sunset Club.
Whilst in secondary school I became conscious of my slim body, so carnival took a back seat.
I then began decorating and coordinating parties.
I met my partner Credable in 2013 and he encouraged me to get back into mas making. For his band D Riddim Tribe, I designed and produced for the first time a children's section called "Our Pride" based on the lion cubs in Africa in 2014, we had a total of 5 children. By 2016 I built the children section up to 60 children in costume. We came 1st place in Fun fantasy NHC two years in a row 2016 & 2017.
Now band leader to D Riddim Tribe and in house designer, I've moved on to producing adults costumes, with a small backline section with 5 individuals in 2019.
2020 I have I've continued to express my handy work through costumes and also have the pleasure in producing a fun mas costume for Rotterdam carnival.
Things I make include Decorative cups, Chocolate bouquets, gift hampers, party favours.
